Application
Designed for bonding, sealing and repairing of almost all materials on nearly all surfaces, even underwater. Waterproofing joints and flanges around skimmers, spotlights, nozzles and pool covers. Securing stone or concrete coping, tiles, mosaics, and decorative elements. Also suitable for permanent repairs of cracks or bonding elements below the waterline and bonds polyester stairs, ladders, and filter systems, as well as polyolefin foam used between walls and liners.
Not suitable for PE, PP, PTFE, pure plaster and bitumen. When gluing plastics always perform an adhesion test first. Adhesion to plastics can vary depending on the type of synthetic and the quality of the plastic.
Handling
Before use
The ambient temperature, the adhesive and the materials to be bonded should be +5°C.
Surfaces must be clean, dust- and grease free. Surface must be solid. The surface can be moist. Use of primer not required.
Cartridge gun, Sealant Finisher, Joint tool, Multi Tool and rubber hammer.
With spot bonding: 5-8 m²/kg. Stripes: one cartridge issues approx. 8-15 metres of adhesive (depending on the diameter of the cut nozzle).
During use
Cut off screw thread, assemble nozzle and cut to a diameter of at least 5 mm.
BONDING: Cut off screw thread, assemble nozzle and cut to a diameter of at least 0.5 cm. Depending on the weight of the material, apply the adhesive evenly in vertical strips or dots at intervals of between 10 and 40 cm. Always apply adhesive to the corners and along the edges. Assemble materials with a pushing movement and press or knock firmly together. Correction is still possible. For heavy materials, fastenings or supports may be required. Close the cartridge properly immediately after use. SEALING: Surface must be clean, free of dust and grease. Cut open cartridge up to the thread with GRIFFON Multitool or sharp box cutter. Turn the nozzle onto the cartridge. Cut the nozzle to the desired diameter (= joint width) (at least 5 mm Ø in case of joint seams). Place cartridge in the sealant gun and inject sealant evenly into the joint, crack or hole. Keep the nozzle tight onto the joint to make sure the sealant is applied into the joint. Spray Sealant Finisher onto the joint. Moisten Joint Tool and smoothen sealant within 10 minutes. Let the sealant fully cure. After approx. 15 minutes, a surface skin will form. Close the cartridge properly immediately after use.
Because of the continually changing water quality in swimming pools, it is not possible to indicate life expectancy when the product is in protracted contact with swimming pool water.
After use
Remove adhesive residues immediately with white spirit. Dry adhesive residue can only be removed mechanically.
A minimum of 18 months. Best Before Date (MM/YY): see packaging. Limited shelf life after opening. Store dry in sealed packaging between +5°C and +25°C.
