Application
Ideal for bonding flexible PVC membranes for swimming pool liners. Particularly suitable for finishing edges and steps.
Not suitable for Polystyrene foam (Tempex®), PE, PP, PTFE.
Handling
Before use
Use adhesive and parts to be bonded at room temperature only. The relative humidity must be below 65%. This is to avoid formation of bubbles in the final product. Once attached, adjustment is no longer possible. Always test on an (inconspicuous) part of the surface first.
Surfaces must be dry, clean, dust- and grease-free and a good fit.
Clean and degrease the surfaces to be bonded for optimal results.
Use a solid brush or fine-toothed (1 mm) glue spreader to cover large surfaces. Use a roller or rubber mallet to join the materials firmly.
Stir well before use. Should preferably not be diluted.
2-2.5 m²/litre, applied on both sides, depending on the nature of the materials to be bonded.
During use
Before applying the adhesive, make sure the surfaces are completely dry and clean. Apply the adhesive thinly and evenly. Allow both parts to dry for 10 to 25 minutes, join the parts by tapping, rolling or pressing PVC liner to the concrete base. Adjustment is then no longer possible. Excess PVC liner can be carefully trimmed after it is glued. Avoid overlapping the liner as this may cause peeling in the future. For stairs and corners, it is recommended to reactivate adhesive with heat. Hold your heat gun at a 45-degree angle, pointing with a flat nozzle in between the concrete base and PVC liner. As the adhesive becomes tacky, quickly press the PVC liner to the concrete base with a press roller and/or a “corner tool”.
For optimum results, both the adhesive and the parts to be bonded must be at room temperature (definitely do not use below +10°C). The final bonding strength depends on the pressure applied. Therefore, press as firmly as possible across the entire surface. Should the adhesive joint between porous materials be exposed to long-lasting contact with water, the adhesive may detach from the wet surface.
After use
Remove wet adhesive residue immediately. Wet adhesive residue can be removed using Griffon Cleaner. Dried adhesive residue can be removed mechanically or by using a paint stripper (pre-test).
Store properly closed in a cool and frost-free place.
