Applications
Suitable for:
(Surface) bonding or laminating many materials that need to be bonded, submitted to a load and/or treated immediately. Ideal for vertical applications and for materials under pressure or curved work, whereby it is impossible to clamp or press. Surfaces to be bonded need to fit completely. Highly suitable for bonding and laminating of metal and hard synthetic panel boards (HPL; Formica, Duropal, Resopal), veneer, hardboard and plywood on, for example, wood, multiplex plywood, chipboard or MDF. Also for bonding flexible insulation and foam materials, cork, leather and rubber.
Not suitable for:
Not suitable for PE, PP, PTFE and polystyrene foam (isomo).
Handling
Before use:
Working conditions
Only use at temperatures between +15°C and +25°C and with maximum relative humidity of 65%. In order to prevent the formation of bubbles due to condensation, the temperature of the adhesive and materials to be bonded should be the same as the ambient temperature and preferably between +18°C and +20°C. Never allow a draught onto pasted surfaces.
Surface requirements
Surfaces must be dry, clean, dust- and grease-free and a good fit.
Preliminary surface treatment
Clean and degrease the surfaces to be glued using Griffon Reiniger. Priming of porous materials is unnecessary.
Tools
Fine-toothed glue spreader (1 mm), rubber hammer, pressure roller or press.
Coverage
2-2.5 m²/litre, applied on both sides, depending on the nature of the materials to be bonded.
During use:
Directions for use
Apply adhesive thinly and evenly to both surfaces using a fine-toothed glue spreader (1 mm). Allow both surfaces to dry for 10 to 25 minutes. As soon as the adhesive stops stringing, join parts. Adjustment is then no longer possible. Avoid trapping air bubbles. Firmly tap, roll or press materials.
Points of attention
If the adhesive joint on porous materials comes into sustained contact with water, the adhesive can become detached from the surface.
After use:
Stains/residue
Wet adhesive residue can be removed using Griffon Cleaner. Dried adhesive residue can be removed mechanically or by using a paint stripper.
Storage conditions
Close container properly and store in a dry, cool and frost-free place.
