An European technical approval (ETA) for a construction product is a positive technical assessment of its suitability for a particular use, based on the contribution of this product to achieve the six essential requirements, as stated in the European Construction Products Regulations (CPR) for construction works where the product is applied. A construction product with an ETA, can be marketed with a CE mark. The guidelines for European technical approvals are drawn up by the European Organisation for Technical Approvals (EOTA).
