GRIFFON READY FOR THE EUROPEAN CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS REGULATION

GRIFFON READY FOR THE EUROPEAN CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS REGULATION

12 December 2013

On 1 July 2013, the European Construction Products Regulation (CPR) No. 305/2011 took effect. In this regulation the minimum requirements for construction products are laid down. These minimum requirements apply in areas such as security, fire resistance and mechanical strength. Products that meet these requirements can be identified by the CE logo. Our PVC Adhesives and Chemical Anchors fall under these so-called construction products and meet the CPR. As of 1 July 2014, Sealants will also be covered by this Regulation.

CE marking
A CE (European Conformity) marking on a product indicates that the product meets a certain set of basic requirements. If a harmonised European standard has been established for a specific product group, it is the duty of the manufacturer to demonstrate compliance with the relevant CE requirements and label the product with the CE logo. In addition, a Declaration of Performance (DoP) must be available, describing the way in which the products have been tested and indicating the level of performance that can be achieved by the product.

Product groups
At this time, the European Construction Products Regulation (CPR) No. 305/2011 applies to PVC Adhesives and Chemical Anchors. As of 1 July 2014, minimum requirements will also apply to Sealants. With regard to our product range, this concerns sealants for the application areas façade elements (i.e. dilatation joints)and sanitation.
